Seasons of Indigo Mountain
In the next installment of Paintings Spotlights, I would like to introduce you to the Seasons of Indigo Mountain collection. I have my grandmother to thank for this collection as she is the one who asked me to complete a four-piece collection on the four seasons. As you can see, it only got half finished, but she loves them anyway. So, these two are displayed proudly as part of her personal collection.
Seasons of Indigo Mountain - Autumn is the first piece I completed in the collection. The paint behaved perfectly for me that day. As you can tell, the sun is setting over a colorful river valley. The river is splashing cheerfully over the rocks in the falls, and a few wispy clouds are in the sky. I love the contrast in this painting, it was just fun to paint!
The second painting in the collection is Seasons of Indigo Mountain - Spring. While there are differences between the two seasons, such a fact only enhances the charm and authenticity of the works. Spring boast joyful, shimmering aspen trees and pretty pink flowers near the river, which is rushing with snow melt-off. The sky is clear and beautiful. You can practically smell the clean, crisp air!
Thanks for learning for about these two awesome paintings! You will soon find out if you don't already know, but I love to paint mountain scenes. I live in the mountains, and they are symbols of peace and beauty to me. They are also fairly simple to master with the paintbrush, however there are always new ways to capture the magnificent landforms. In these two paintings, I tried to capture the essence of the seasons. I could have added a massive mud pit into the spring one if I truly wanted it to look like spring in the mountains, but that would have ruined the composition. :)
