On the Easel introductions

Since I have nearly exhausted my supply of website worthy paintings, I am pulling from my rather large collection of in-progress paintings. Some are 90% done. Others have been firmly sidelined. This post is an in depth look at the inside of an artist studio, and her mind for that matter. Just don't be too judgy, these will be completed before I put my stamp of approval on them. If it goes well, maybe this will be a new collection.

Currently on the easel. This is my latest project, and I have high hopes for it. If it was not so cold out in my studio this would be done by now. However, you can tell where I got the inspiration. I am not quite sure how to finish this one, but I am looking forward to discovering what the future holds for it just as soon as the weather warms up a little.

Small canvas, big possibilities. If only I knew what those possibilities are. It has been sidelined for nearly three months now. Any ideas?

I was given several wonky shaped canvases for Christmas, so I decided to go highly technical with the hexagon. Problem is, it is so technical I can't get any inspiration for the creative part. I am thinking....

Introducing a new base of operations - the gesso board! I have never worked with these before. I quite enjoyed experimenting with a simple flower. It will be fun to try them out again with a new subject. I need to tweak the flower a bit before it can go into the finished pile.

People seem to love little adobe houses with Sante Fe style decorations. I enjoy painting them too. This one is almost done but it definitely needs some final brush strokes.

I do have one recent finish to share. This wood plank was another Christmas gift. My Grandma is great at gift giving. I wanted to capture the spirit of horses and the land where they run free. I love the colors in this one, so I get to keep it.
